Johnston Ranks #13 in Best Companies to Work for in New York State 2017 List
We are happy to announce that Johnston has again been voted to the Best Companies to work for in New York State list; and furthermore, we are beyond grateful to say that we were voted #13 in the “Small/Medium Employer” Category for 2017.
Total rankings for this group totaled 46 companies and consisted of employers with 15 to 249 employees.
Jumping from #40 in 2016 to #13 in 2017, this year marks the fourth consecutive year that Johnston has ranked as one of the best companies to work for in New York State.

What is Best Companies to Work for in New York?
Best Companies to Work for in New York is a survey competition to determine which participants are the best employers. The process is managed by Best Companies Group (BCG) and winners are published by New York State SHRM (NYS-SHRM). The Best Companies Group (BCG) is an independent research firm specializing in identifying and recognizing great places to work. BCG managers programs worldwide, including in the US, Canada and the UK.
Assessment Process
The Best Companies Group conducts a simple, yet thorough company assessment. The assessment is a two-part process designed to gather detailed data about each participating company. In part one, the employer completes a questionnaire and in part two, the employees of the company complete an employee survey.
Part I, The Employer Benefits & Policies Questionnaire, captures important information about company policies, practices and demographics. Part II, The Employee Engagement & Satisfaction Survey, consists of statements that employees respond to on a five point agreement scale. The results are analyzed and categorized according to 8 Core Focus Areas:
